What Defines the Zeolites Group
Hydrated aluminosilicate minerals that form in volcanic cavities (vesicles) when hot groundwater deposits minerals over millions of years. Their open crystal structures can trap and release water and ions, making them natural molecular sieves. Includes stilbite, apophyllite, and scolecite, often found together in spectacular basalt cavity specimens.
